- Develop and validates the Ministry’s Strategic and Annual Plans;
- Conduct market research and provide data on environmental trends, focusing on economic, political, and technological changes;
- Formulate and review policies to ensure they are aligned with national goals;
- Develop strategic tools to aid in strategic thinking, planning, and implementation;
- Provide expert advice to support strategic planning processes;
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and outcomes of projects and programs;
- Manage database of all programs and projects.;
- Oversee the establishment of an effective Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system across the ministry;
- Coordinate the production of M&E reports and presentations;
- Conduct performance audits to ensure adherence to principles of economy, efficiency, and effectiveness;
- Facilitate formulation of performance contracts for senior officials;
- Prepare performance reports for higher authorities; and
- Evaluate the performance of the energy sector to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Update and manage the Whole of Government Performance Management System
